HYB: pods

Murphy has moved in here! Out of 17 pods from daubing this spring, 2 have
ripened naturally. As of today there is a chance 3 more can still do that,
but after high winds last night snapping two stalks with 3 pods the rest
have had to be gathered and handled as premature pods. That's a lousy rate,
but what with raccoons, grasshoppers, worms, dogs, a calf and now high wind
I can't think why one of the hail storms we had didn't contribute as well.
Maybe Murphy was napping when they came. With over 130 pods last year,
there were a fewer number that didn't quite have the opportunity to mature
naturally. Too many choices last year, maybe.
