I am a new member, and I certainly care. I live in Europe, where we pay for
the time we spend online, which includes downloading messages, and I am
grateful for anything which keeps that to a minimum.
The volume of messages on this list is huge, and I subscribe to a number of
other lists as well. One of the things I appreciated when joining this one
was that there was a degree of control about the postings, and I wouldn't
have to wade through acres of OT chat, but instead could just appreciate the
very useful iris information which I have been doing.
I just set up filters to delete any posts labelled OT, and if necessary I
can filter again according to the very useful tags, as well as sort the
messages into different sub-directories for later perusing.
Incidentally, I am also grateful when posters delete reams of previous
messages before posting their own message, which you didn't do.
You can call me a computer nerd if you like, (which I'm not) but I think
this is a question of simple courtesy, and of learning the rules of the game
before you try to join the team. That would make me relaxed.
Thank you John for your good sense in running this group in a professional
way.
