I could be wrong, and often am, but I felt/feel that new members were either
leaving or hesitant to post because of the "harsh" responses many received.
It must be traumatic to be "jumped on" with your first or second post! Or
even better, to be monitoring the list with an eye to posting in the future.
If you're at the beach and you stick your foot in the water, and it comes
back with only four toes, your first reaction is not to run back in the
water!
In print, one cannot judge the tone of voice, the expression, or the intent
of the writer. Since we all come from such different backgrounds, we have
700+ interpretations of each post. Some similar and others dissimilar.
In an iris way, I've not accomplished much today. Still too tired from
weeding yesterday. Time to line-out the returns from convention. (Keeping
content here.)
I made the rounds and counted pods again. It wasn't a very productive
podding season by my standards. Too much convention and bad weather. There
are 10 pods, if you count the second and smallest one on Sweet Musette (by
Memphis Miss). If I hadn't made a second wave of crosses during the cool
spell in the late season, I wouldn't have more than three or four. Don't
usually get takes on late ones. Was fortunate to make a couple of pink
crosses and an orange this year. Lov v v v e it! (Wish I could retire. At
least during iris season)
