Christopher,
Hang in there, Westpointer was a first year plant here and had wonderful
appendages. Lots of pollen too. Godsend and Diety are also two regulars
that normally have good appendages.
I am trying to remember what George Sutton told us was the trigger for good
appendages. Was it a cold winter? Could have been. What kind of winter
did you have?

I must admit being a little disappointed because I ordered many SAs last
year and many of them have bloomed without appendages.
Some of the naughty ones so far are:
SKY HOOKS
GODSEND
WESTPOINTER
DIETY
HOOKEM HORNS
HOLY FIRE
Many are supposed to have flounces but only have horns including:
MOMENTOUS OCCASION
SPECIAL FEATURE
CLOUDIA
HONEY SCOOP
The best of the lot so far is DAUBER'S DELIGHT with it's long flounces.
Others that are putting on a great show are HOWDY DO ( great garden
iris), CANAVERAL ( wow...huge flower, amazing thick beards), THORNBIRD,
GOTHIC, EAGLE'S LANDING( a great presence in the bed), and a few others
that don't spring to mind right now.
