A belated followup:

Mesmerizer was the top Wister winner in 2000, so this is just its second
year of eligibility for the Dykes.

It was first runner-up for the Wister twice before winning, and it was
first runner-up for the Dykes last year. I think it has a good chance
this year or next. It would have a better chance if more judges had seen
it in my garden over the years, but in any case I am very pleased with
the acceptance of what has been my favorite iris for 10 years. 

Gerry, for whom this beauty bloomed from late December into mid-June
this season
