I wet down a new bed and put heavy black plastic over as a cover.
I put the thermometer under the plastic and waited for an hour. The
thermometer registered 137 degrees. This was on a day when the high
temp was 95. All this week is supposed to in the 90-95 range. I
intend to keep the cover on for 3 weeks.
It is raised bed and I wanted to cook the added soil. What passes for
topsoil is scraped off the areas being developed. Who knows what
lurks in the soil?
