Re: CULT: Solarization


Al,

My dad decided at 84 he didn't want to hastle with a garden anymore. I 
learned so much from him. But  the best thing was that he gave me his 
rototiller and I solarized a bed, rototilled agin and covered again. Am 
saving this bed for my new purchases. But i also want to improve the soil. 
Sounds strange but It is hard to get good soil of the right consistency. Alot 
of landscapers are adding manure to the soil which is not what we want.  The 
soil itself is too sandy. After getting the wrong type soil twice now I go 
and inspect it first. Then I wil solarize it again before I plant. Amazing 
what black plastic can do.
