Ellen,

What is a lily beetle.  Is it specific to lilies?  I had some unknown
beetles in my iris blooms.  They appeared to be just trying to be dry.

The ones I had were bigger than a june bug and but not as big as as small
Japanese beetle.  They were kinda brown like a june bug but fuzzy with white
or yellowish pin-stripes running longways.  I think I even remember them
buzzing when I disturbed them.

They went away easily enough when I shook them out of the blooms so they are
nothing more than a curiosity now...

Is that a lily beetle?
