Robin, what's the news on the new checklist? Any idea when it's due out? I
apologize if it was listed in the latest Recorder, which I've not read yet.
Sutton's Rebloom Reliability Chart in this year's catalog gives a good
rundown on things that rebloom for them. The ones they have listed as 3E or 3+ tend
to be the ones that are the strongest rebloomers everywhere. These would be
good irises to include. (Thanks for the good record keeping, guys!)
Other's I would recommend that were reliable around here would be Pink
Attraction, Sugar Blues, Summer Olympics and Lemon Reflection--partly for color
variation. I know these are older and there may be some newer ones that will
prove to be just as reliable, but they have to be out for a while to build a
reputation and get on the rebloom list. I'm zone 6, but that's getting there!
I've talked and written so much that I feel like everyone knows more about my
theories and program than I do. I hate to bore people! LOL! But one of the
exciting things I THINK I'm seeing is how dominant the rebloom gene is. Most
of the above irises crossed with sporadic rebloomers produces quite a few good
rebloomers. Good as in seedlings that rebloom. Not necessarily speaking to
branching, form, etc., but that can be worked on.
