This is my first year for I DO here too. I
hadn't started out with it because of its
height. It looks to be a strong grower here,
but its branching, at least this first year,
was tight. It sets pods as good as anything I
crossed though. I too decided to try some
crosses after reading some of the articles.
MOTHER EARTH is ok here, but looks like it will
have weak stalks. It bloomed so late in the
season, I don't see how it will ever rebloom
here. But since I'm working on bi-tone
rebloomers, I want to at least see a few
crosses. It has more width than most of the
rebloomers I grow and has at least decent
substance. (I didn't know I was going to have
such a substance fetish) It certainly does
need to be crossed with more vigorous growers.
And Linda,
Clarence Mahan and Rosalie Figge are the ones
who deserve the credit for rounding up the
great articles in the Recorder. I'm just the
lucky one who gets to preview all of the
articles before it goes to the printer :)

well, I think I actually have to go catch up on
that paperwork stacked up on my desk, but its
much more fun to play on the computer!
