Bridge In Time and Returning Chameleon, both pretty good rebloomers, came
from the first season I had bloom on Immortality. Monty sent the rhizome in the
fall of 87 and in the spring of 88 it put up 5 stalks. Four of those stalks
bore seed pods and it set pods on Butterscotch Bronze, Christmas Rubies,
Glistening Icicle, Corn Harvest, Pink Sleigh, and Sorority Sister!
BIT came from Glistening Icicle x Immortality and RC came from Pink Sleigh x
Immortality, both from Immortality pollen. The Corn Harvest cross gave me 3
rebloomers out of 34 seed. Two were just like Corn Harvest, only worse. One was
palest yellow over palest lavender and was tall and well branched. Had a 15
foot row at one time with MANY fall stalks. Unfortunately, I didn't think it was
pretty enough to introduce. Wish I'd kept it.
In the next year or two I crossed it onto Paradise which gave me some of the
tallest seedlings, some nearing 4 foot tall, all either pale yellow or pale
yellow bitones. Some of my prettiest plants but no rebloom. Over the course of 3
or 4 years I made at least 25-30 crosses with Immortality. I've still got a
small clump of Orbiter x Immortality, but it's not that great--most of the
time, and has not rebloomed. Immortality x Beau Zam produced a rebloomer that
was nice and tall and very well branched. Ah, a couple of rebloomers, yellow
amoenas, from Immortality X Champagne Elegance. More that got away. AND Precious
Moments X Immortality gave 3 rebloomers, one a gorgeous little thing but it
wouldn't bloom out of the fans!
Linda, most of these were left at Alvaton. Wishing you lots of fun.
