Betty -- I have used Preen on my seedling beds for many years and never have had a problem with it. I apply the Preen immediately after preparing the soil, then water it in. I plant as soon as the soil is moist but not yet dry -- usually within 24-48 hours. Are you adding anything else to your garden soil? -- Griff

Griff, I have Preen and that is what I'd used before. There were three beds and I only had trouble with one bed. I think I waited a couple of weeks to put it on the two that didn't have problems. I was never sure what caused the problems. They were stunted for several weeks and didn't start growing as 
the others did.  There was no long term  damage.
