Re: HYB: REB: Genetics

Thanks Chuck. If you are right (and I'm happy to believe you are), then that helps clarify my thoughts a lot and helps me understand (or have theories about <g>) the few data I have. The cycle rebloomers from summer bloom parents were throwing me off.

This year's crosses should yield 9 different matches with probability of 1 in 36 being a summer bloomer, and 4 more with probability of 1 in 6. Enough to spice up the adventure with a chance to win the lottery while working on other things (bloom & stalk traits and stalk to fan ratio while getting back IMM's gold standard of health here in the vale).

The really bad news about these :-( rebloomers is that they may have all the genes for it, but it might be 10 years before the climate here in the vale would result in actually seeing rebloom.

I used a TEA LEAVES X MATRIX seedling maiden bloom to make a few crosses this year - both parents have summer bloomed here, so theoretically, it has four doses of summer rebloom and the seedling should summer rebloom here also. I'm not holding my breath.
