Don't know if you have the book in the US but Cassidy and Linnegar's
"Growing Iris" (Croom Helm, Timber Press) has a photo of I.variegata.
I. variegata var flavescens is out in full bloom down on the plot an
looks spectacular, large (for a variegata) 4 inch flowers in soft lemon
yellow. I'm still waiting for I.v. var Reginae which is like the type.
