I have a seed pod for a bog species plant, I. giganticaerulea (big blue
iris). It's big, it's blue, it grows in a bog. The pod contained three seed
sections wrapped in a dry film that reminded me very much of orange
sections, and if I counted correctly, about 38 seeds. But I'm not
completely convinced the fleshy segments I am counting are the seeds,
because there are also much smaller seed-like beads attached to the midrib
of the dry membrane below the fleshy segments.
Who can tell me?
