PHOTO - Electronic cameras

There was a thread on this a few months ago and the concensus was that
electronic cameras are not yet ready to replace the old film type for most
uses--unless you are willing to spend over $1000 for a very good one.

The quality of prints depends on the quality of your printer, so you also
need a high-end dye transfer or color laser printer.

Terry Aiken just recently talked about finding an electronic camera that
could produce pictures suitable for publication in the bulletin, but I
believe he spent a good deal more than $300.

The color balance problem can be solved with filters and experimenting with
different films and taking pictures at different times of day.  The camera
has very little if anything to do with it.
