I only have TBs and a few drawfs and intermediates but treat them all
the same as far as fertilizing. I live in Grass Valley with the same
type clay that I take it you have. I feed 2 parts of 12-12-12 and 1 part
0-20-0 six weeks before bloom. Right after bloom it's 12-12-12. It works
for me and several other people in the area. The specialists say you
should use low nitrogen like 5-10-10 but from what I gather, our soil is
so lousy that it needs higher nitrogen. Hope this helps.
