Re: IRIS-L digest 620

Rima said her rot looks like this:

 <<<<--- rot spot
                           |
                           | stalk
                           |

**

and here's how mine looks:

                \ /
                 o /
                  \ o
                   O

which is (obviously) holes in the leaves of the fan. I don't see the
saw-tooth edges from borers, but A WHOLE LOT of holes in the fans!!
and if the rest of the foliage doesn't grow in sunshine and gets too much
additional water, the whole fan/plant is stunted and may be doomed.

The cause is the rain and cold in April/May and the inability of the soil
to dry out (due to neighbor's ill-advised flooding of her "garden" which I
notice is destined to receive some expensive peat in the near future --
NOTHING GROWS THERE!!) So I'm loosing some TB's and BB's!!

HOWEVER,
Much TB bloom is expected in another bed. And it's time for the
beardless to get another jolt of fertilizer, methinks.
