As the bloom season races by, we're running into some time problems doing
photographs for my forthcoming iris book. Here in Virginia, the TB season
has all but passed (though I suspect is still carrying on in the mountains)
and Louisianas and Spurias are on the downhill slope.
Can any of you on the list recommend any (fairly comprehensive) iris
collections or gardens from either the mountains of West Virginia or from
Pennsylvania no further north than Harrisburg? I'd like to contact the
owners of such gardens and see if they would allow photographer Roger Foley
to visit them.
The area is fairly limited because Roger is based in Alexandria VA, and for
single gardens, day trips are preferable. Roger could make a multiday trip
if he could swing through several gardens.
