AIS black list - RHS color chart

For those of you who have asked... back in the NON politically correct
1920's, the American Iris Society saw fit to publish a series of lists (at
least two), of irises that they considered no good! The recommendation was
that these irises be destroyed. Conversely (perversely?), this list is now a
collector's item, and so are the irises that are on it. People try to put
together a 'black list' historics bed.

The Royal Horticulture Society color charts are a reference for describing
color. There are hundreds of colors contained in it, each referenced to a
number. You will often see iris color descriptions followed by a number in
paraenthese... these are RHS color references.
