The plans for the Japanese Iris Symposium have gelled further... this is
where we stand:
DATE: Saturday, October 11th (Columbus Day Weekend/Thanksgiving Weekend)
WHERE: Royal Botanical Gardens, Hamilton, Ontario (tucked between Niagara
Falls and Toronto)
WHAT: 1st International Japanese Iris Symposium
WHO: Sponsored by Region 2, Empire State Iris Society
WHY: Bridge the gap between conventions... provide an educational forum on
JI's
PROGRAM: Symposium will be composed of four noted hybridizers of JI and
related... including:
Terry Aitken - Aitken's Salmon Creek Garden, WA
John Coble - Ensata Gardens, Michigan
Chad Harris - Mt. Pleasant Iris Farm, WA
Tony Huber - Apogon Plus, Montreal

Also included: gourmet luncheon with slides of latest and greatest
Auction of JI's and related
REGISTRATION: We estimate $40 US... to include all four speakers, lunch and
souvenier
LIMITED SPACE... ROOM CAN HOLD ONLY 80
ACCOMODATIONS: Venture Inn, Burlington, Ontario. Negotiated rate = $75
Canadian (about $58 US, plus GST)
Also... van transportation from Buffalo on Saturday morning, returning
Saturday evening... price approx. $20... for those who can't stick around
