Blooms

I'm new to iris growing and am curious about something, and I can't find
answers in the encyclopedias. We have some fans in our 2 year old iris
patch that did not bloom. The rest of the patch was magnificent! The
plants are not overcrowded and the fans look exactly the same as those
that bloomed. Anyone have any ideas?
