Hello, folks -- A few years ago an iris was displayed, but not entered
in competition, at a Chesapeake and Potomac show at the botanical
gardens at the foot of Capitol Hill. The distinguishing feature of this
flower was its iridescence. It was a self, as I remember, and the petals
looked like mother of pearl -- yes, that color and that iridescent
sheen. As I recall, the flowers were small and the falls flaring. I
haven't been able to find anyone who recalls its name. Does the
description sound familiar to anyone?

prepared, and the seedlings are 6-8 inches tall. (Groan!)
