I have kept quiet on this subject but I am a big fan of bone meal. It
is the only ammendment I used in my garden until this year when I added
some alfalfa. First of all, I have a dog, a large dobe that loves a
bone more than he loves me. "Ruler" gardens with me a lot of the time
and has never shown an interest in the bone meal in the beds. There are
2 Rottweilers immediately North, a Labrador to the South, and numerous
strays about constantly. I have NEVER had a single rz dug up by a dog.
Maybe I have just been lucky or maybe because I only use 1 T buried 2"
under each rz they can not sniff it out. Either way bone meal has not
created a problem here.
