Amy,
I can't answer your question directly but can tell you how the dwarfs
perform here and maybe this can help you.
I'm in Zone 8 and I can get between 10 to 25 frost nights in any given
year. My lows are never that low however. When I do get a frost night
it is usually between 26F to 32F. My dwarfs (both Standards and
Minature) perform quite well here even in the mildest of winters like
the winter before last.
I would suggest checking with local iris societies in your area or
nearby to get their opinions.
