We have no choice but to hang in there - *but* there is no excuse
for not sending a pre-printed note saying there is a huge backlog
*or* not returning phone messages (my two) or returning checks that
will soon be non-negotiable. I fully expect AIS to pay my bank for a
check 'stop payment' or Jerry Gifford to send my check back ASAP.
Who is his RVP? Go and rent a u-haul and pick the stuff up, for
goodness sakes. The AIS Board has known about this problem for
months now and J.G. should have been relieved of his duties along
about April 1st and someone else should have been appointed and the
materials sent to them and we would not be *seen* as slamming AIS
and we would have our orders.
I guess Mr. Niswonger doesn't answer letters either - well, Gifford
knew enough to send out the 1996 R & I's bypassing those of us who
had been waiting longer. I think Lois Rose said she requested one
at the beginning of March and received it the middle of April. I
find this insulting. If he had kept everybody waiting, we can be
assured this problem would have been rectified.
Sorry if this comes off as a flame for AIS, it is not. It IS a flame
for the AIS Board of Directors. They are not AIS. The members are
the AIS - can we vote these people out of office? I guess I should
have gone to Dearborn but I will be in Denver next year - maybe
I'll still be waiting for my checklists, Judges' Manual, 1997 cal-
endar, etc.
