RE: CULT: Bone Meal & Dogs

Lorraine, instead of bone meal, you could try triple phosphate (people around
here swear by the stuff) or what's called colloidal phosphate (which since its
a granular item, surely couldn't actually be a colloid, but oh, well). And,
sure, buy yourself some nice store-bought compost. If your soil isn't already
too acid, Back to Earth is good stuff. But if you have any room at all, you
would do yourself a great favor by starting a compost pile. Think of it as a
very quiet, unkempt friend who supplies you with good freebies for your
garden.

Barb, in Santa Fe, waiting for the weekend. It's almost too late to plant
corn!

Barb, Yes I do have dogs, 8 of them (!!). Only one that wanders freely
though, but I'm sure when the others are walked, they would not leave my
garden alone. So I guess Bone Meal is out. Since I don't have a compost
heap, or a horse or bunny, would you suggest that I just throw in a little
store bought manure when replanting to amend the soil??

Thanks....Lorraine
