I have one oriental hibiscus and two of the 'southern belle'
natives, which survive freezes, but have never been questioned about them.
Anybody still grow opium poppies??

I have some. I read last year that it's legal to sell the seeds, but illegal
to possess the plants. Most folks don't know about them orhow to harvest them
for the opium. They are growing very rapidly right now, and in a couple of
weeks, there will be blooms all over the place. They can be cut down right
after blooming unless I want to save the seeds, which are very tasty. I
got the seeds from Sharon Fitzpatrick in Ohio and some from Jeff Kirst in
California. It will be interesting to see if I can tell the difference between
them.

The Ohio seeds are in their second year.

Very prolific bloom in my garden!! Even in the front where I have the historics
there is a huge turnout.

The expected rain turned out to be heavy sprinkles and then sun and warmth.
No wind to knock things about!! Going to be a super dee duper show in
Western New York today!
