HYB: 'Gerald Darby' seed pods

As I was deadheading today, I noticed that 'Gerald Darby' (I. versicolor
x I. virginica) is forming one seed pod that looks quite healthy. Is
this common with this particular interspecies hybrid, or should I be
guarding this seed pod very carefully?
