SIB: point of clarification

At the iris show yesterday in Auburn, Maine, I noticed that 'Flight
of Butterflies'(SIB) received a two ribbons. I checked the check-
list this morning and sure enough, it was registered in 1972 by
Jean Witt and sold by White Flower Farm with *no* date of intro-
duction. I think someone said that this Sib. should *not* receive
any awards at AIS shows. If so, why don't the judges know this?
BTW, 'Flight of Butterflies' looked great....
