I'm sure you grow iris very well and to the best of your ability, but in
someone elses garden the above varieties "may" have 7 or more buds. 
Sometimes it has to do with minerals in the soil, climate, fertilizer or
etc.  You must see the iris growing in other gardens in other parts of
the country before you decide how many buds a variety may have.  As
Sharon McCallister says there are no absolutes.

On the other hand there are varieties that are known to have low bud
count and maybe those are some of the ones you mention above.  I grow
two of them, but I have 800 talls, and can't remember the bud counts on
those.  Maybe someone else on this list will remember and let you
know.
