AR - advice required

I don't know when this will get through. Our provider has been down since
around midnight last night and is not answering the phone today.

I got several aril species last year, including I. susiana. They all
wintered well and grew quite well this spring. Susiana was less vigorous
than the others but put out a nice offshoot. It is now going dormant and
right now we seem to be in a monsoon season. I am concerned about the
rhizome and here is my question.

My inclination is to dig it, put it in a bucket of sand in the basement and
wait until early fall to replant. Would this be wise or would I be
sentencing it to death? Any advice will be appreciated.
