I have been trying to go back to normal mail, but as when my
hard drive lost some files a few months ago and the iris-l welcome
file was in that bunch I've tryed to use the one the list sent
itself, but it keeps rejecting my commands, I'm doing it this way:
Set Iris-l mail ack
1st time it said No such list!!!
Also, the person wo sent the gif of the walking iris, I can't do
mime base64 encoding, I had someone else do it and there is only 93%
of the gif there and my view will not view anything less than a 100%
file. Now if someone could do a UUECODED copy and mail it to me,
that I can handle as I FTP files a lot and get the UUECODED just
fine.
Thanks goes out to the Iris-l user who posted on that garden web
page for trading for me, I've made some contacts and while so far
I've not found a source for the 12ft+ tall ones, I'll be getting
some that are not over here and will be sending some of mine to the
mainland.
I'm also digging out a spot to put a plastic pan in the ground
that'll have one of the L.A. Iris I got planted into it, all 3 of
the L.A. Iris have grown and have numbers of new iris growing off
the mother stock, but they have not bloomed at all.
As for the Iris in my frig, I'm thinking of bring them back out and
replanting them Aug.1st. Well see what happens then.
Oh yes, my I.Dietes are still blooming for force, at lest 2 to 3
blooms per day!
My land based mail just came, and in it was a hardcopy of that
Walking Iris, I took it outside and held it next to one of mine, and
YES! They have the same shape, only mine is all yellow with black
spots on it. So I'm thinking, if I get one like the one in the
photo, maybe I could do a cross between them?! Ho boy, maybe I could
become noted for working with these!!!
If someone has a scanner, I could send them a photo of the one I
have here and it could be sent to Tom for the cork board!
Dahliaman
.. Tomorrow has been cancelled due to lack of interest.
