In answer to this one there are a few species which show variegated
foliage, Ii. Pseudacorus, Ii. ensata, Ii. foetidissima, Ii. laevigata,
Ii. pallida (two clones, one with yellow, and one with silver
variegation), Ii. japonica (possibly three clones of variable habit), Ii.
tectorum.
There are one or two TB cultivars in the US with variegated foliage but
I'm not too sure of the names, Striped Moonbeam is one I think.
In the UK there are a couple of variegated cultivars of species, one
which is a Ii. laevigata sport but expensive and rare.

The two pallida clones and the variegated Ii. pseudacorus, on both
counts, the japonica and foetidissima are good in shade, the former is a
bit tender, the latter a bit miffy.

Ii.pseudacorus variegata is excellent and thrives in a pond, I grow mine
about 6 inches deep

Ii. pseudacorus will produce either all white seedlings or all green, but
one person down at a fish farm in Devon got lucky and has an all gold leaved
seedling which survives.
