I found lots of help on the Net in this area by doing a web search for
"hemerocalis" and "daylily". One fellow has instructions for hybridizing as well
as pictures of seedlings. go to http://www.neosoft.com/~bjgj/daylily.html
Along the same lines for iris there is "Daves backyard" with a great
method for spatially challenged hybridizers. Use the links from the AIS page for
this one.

Hello Friends,
I seem to have become obsessed with daylillies now that I have taken the
time to appreciate their beauty. There are daylillies everywhere. Since the
irises are taking a break, I have started hybridizing daylillies. I have
two pods on one plant( Black Eyed Stella ). The other plant I have been
crossing doesn't seem to want to take. My question is, "I have some
daylillie seeds ;can someone tell me the correct way to plant them? How
long till they germinate? etc....."
Sincerlilly, Steve
