No such luck.... the borer loves iris - and generally the iris that you most
want to have in your garden is the one that the borer will destroy for you!
I attended the Horticulture Conference in Buffalo over the weekend - an iris
speaker named Barbara Perry Lawton did a fine job on her topic... and was
asked an intriguing question.... WHAT IF someone were to place floating row
covers over the iris beds in the fall???? Would the moth therefore be
desuaded?? BTW... the AIS Research Fund is looking for people to study the
borer problem... and has funds of up to $2,000 per project to support this
research.
