The idea of controling the borer moth made me think about a product
I used a few years ago for an infestation of moths in my house from some
bird seed I had purchased. They are small cardboard triangles with sticky
surface inside that as I recall had moth phermone in it. They worked
wonderfully. I set one on top of my refrigerator and after several days to a
week it was dotted with moth bodies. My thought is-----could you put these
around in the garden to catch and kill the borer moths? Maybe worth a try.
Are the moths active all summer? Do the borers only hatch after a cold spell
or is the life cycle ongoing? Sounds like a research project AIS should support.
