Re: CULT: seed pod question

Amy:

I just "found" my 1st iris seed pods about 10 days or so ago. They
appeared at the top of stems I had de-flowered but had not cut stalk
down & were inside old spathes (the papery thingy.) To me, they look
like fat, green Jalapeno peppers, but I'm sure there's a more scientific
description.

I'm ignorant of what comes next -- you're *supposed* to leave pods on
stems until they have dried almost to splitting open, but I broke mine
off after considering advice via Iris-L because the pods appeared on SDB
re-bloomers & I'm trying to find out if these plants will in fact bloom
again here this fall. I took pods inside & put them in bowls (labeled as
to what SDB's they grew on) to see if they'll ripen that way. Who knows?

Marte in the mtns	Zone 4/Sunset 1 Colorado	Sunny, dry today
so far, several TB's in bloom inc. Belvi Queen
			which I think is fabulous!
