Re: OT: name - reply

Hey Mike,
Glenna in Colorado, here. Say hello to your dad.  Re: the new plic --.  I always thought that if I ever started hybridizing, I wanted an iris names "Q". He was a rascal of a character from the Star Trek series, The Next Generation.  At any rate, I know abbreviations and initials are not permissible, but my thinking was "Que" pronounced "Cue".  With the year 2000, and the introduction of a very special SA, maybe you can do something with that.  I wish you well.
My tall bearded are just beginning to bloom here -- I am so glad the convention was last year.  Given the crazy weather this season, conventioneers would have had nothing to see!
Cheers -- Glenna

Subject: [iris-talk] OT: name

Hello Talkers,
I have a favor to ask.  We are having a terrible time naming an iris for next year, was wondering if any of you can help.  It probably will be the cover iris on the 2000 catalog.  If you can email me with suggested names I would appreciate it immensely.  For some reason the name for this iris is eluding us all.  I have an updated picture of it on our web site at:  http://www.suttoniris.com/Flounced_plicata.htm
Of course if we use a name some one sends us we will send you a free one of the iris.  By the way I am extremely excited about this flower, it has great branching for us and usually has a minimum of 11 buds, the flower itself is rounded and has touching falls.  It is a first for us to have a plicata SA with flounces and they remain consistent to the last flower for us.  Thanks for humoring me.
Sincerely
Mike
