I've some thoughts after seeing all the discussion on checklists (books) and
possible new online data bases. I do think we'll see both online databases
and CDs available in the future, in addition to the hard copy. It would be
possible to have the online database accessible by monthly or annual
subscription, which could help cover the costs. I also envision the on
line checklist/database having links to pictures of as many varieties as
possible. Hybridizers/gardens/individuals could pay a nominal charge to
have pictures scanned and linked to the variety name, if they want the
picture included. How many of us amateur gardeners have wished they could
find a picture quickly as they were looking something up in the checklists,
when trying to find a picture in somebody's catalog became futile?
