Thanks, Janet and Lloyd! First, here's the description from my
Intermediate list:
VITALITY
Jayne Ritchie (WA) 1985 IB 24" M-L
Tailored intense orange yellow (RHS 14A); grayed orange-yellow beard.
Ritchie 1985. Spartan X 76-5-2: (Stockholm x Canary Isle)
Bev DeWitt (MO) says it's a best grower. Robert Jensen (ID) sez: "This
little IB has a different tone of brassy gold that I've not seen before.
It was interesting!" Got one from 7/96 sale. HM 1990 (26 votes).
Can get from: Croftway, Schreiners (w/pic) 1998. Woodland 1999.
I've had it for 3 years, planted in a 4 gallon pot with the rest of the
1996 acquisitions in 9/96. Know it needs to go into the ground;
hopefully we can do that this year. Being in pots didn't keep many from
blooming last year and this, though. Maybe the fact that it's an M-L
made it bloom later, but a whole month? Well, I was glad to see it,
anyway, have been looking forward to it for 3 years! (The rest of the
IBs, in the ground, did splendidly this year.) Thanks -- B.
