Try this...... trim the stalk to a managable length, dig a hole in a potato
and stick the cut end of the stalk in there. Prop it somehow somewhere
protected (sunny window?) until the pod completes the maturation process. I
am told that the sugars and moisture of the potato will bring the seedpod
along.
No personal experience, but I'm throwing it out there FWIW.
