There is nothing about the photo of your yellow iris that would rule out
OLA KALA (J. Sass, '43, DM-'48) as an ID. As it was the most widely
distributed deep yellow iris of its era, it is a more likely possibility
than any other. The name, BTW, is a Native American term (Lakota, I
believe) and is pronounced OH-la ka-LAH.
