Re: CULT: MDB
From: "Mark, Maureen" <MARKM@tc.gc.ca>
Just to add to Bob's comments. The durability and length of bloom of MDBs
(as in other classes) depends a great deal on the cultivar. As Bob says,
individual MDB blooms do not last as long as the average TB. I would say
the norm for MDB flowers is 1 to 3 days. However, clumps form quickly and
with multiple bloom stalks; a good MDB can offer a week or more of bloom.
HEY THERE was my star MDB this year with over 3 weeks of bloom. A close
second was TICKLE ME (Chapman, 1998) that had lots of increase and stalks
for more than a week of bloom for a first year plant.
