Just to add to Bob's comments.  The durability and length of bloom of MDBs
(as in other classes) depends a great deal on the cultivar.  As Bob says,
individual MDB blooms do not last as long as the average TB.  I would say
the norm for MDB flowers is 1 to 3 days.  However, clumps form quickly and
with multiple bloom stalks; a good MDB can offer a week or more of bloom.
HEY THERE was my star MDB this year with over 3 weeks of bloom.  A close
second was TICKLE ME (Chapman, 1998) that had lots of increase and stalks
for more than a week of bloom for a first year plant.
