An another idea would be to use heavy pvc pipe cut to correct lenghs,
capped, then inserted in block of wood (2x4). You can use any width of
pipe for smaller or bigger stalks, or you can cut inserts (pvc) to place
inside standard size if you want all blocks of wood to be standard
size.  This is the method allot of clubs use here in region 14.  The
blocks of wood can be routed to look nice or just cut, sanded, left
plain, stained or lacquered.  To store you just take them apart for
