I agree about Blenheim Royal. It stood up for three consecutive days of
high winds last year. And I'm not talking about gusts -- it was windy for
hours on end. And there were 6 to 10 stalks too in full bloom and all of
them stood up. It also passed the thunderboomer test this year as well as
gusty winds for a few hours a day practically each day during peak bloom.
For garden quality, this is the blue iris to have. It clumps well and is
floriferous, sometimes throwing an extra branch low in the stalk -- I had 12
buds on a stalk last year. It does not have huge blooms but I think that is
one of the reasons it makes a good clump.
