Jan. I "see"- guess I should say - understand your point. (in honesty, I'll
have to admit i never heard of NT - what section is it? Most of the others I
can "translate" having been to Australia)) Pehaps we should go one step
further and indicate what section of the U.S. since we span such a large area
also. As far as horticulture problems, the zones help to coordinate how to
handle problems, but it might be more interesting to even spell the states
the way we used to do it, before the P.O. got into the act and decided the
names had to be reduced to 2 letters. Typing is not so confusing, but in
longhand, MD, MO, MA, even MI if you're a sloppy writer, can be open to
question. What I had in mind was to say "northeast, southeast, central USA
or Midwest, Rocky Mts.,and West Coast, - or something like that. But
considering the difficulty in getting people to put their zone and home
state, anything more will possibly be impossible. And just to do it once,
doesn't help those who log on after that time. Oh, well, nothing is
