Like Walter, we are enjoying a spectacular spring, and shaking our heads
at one another saying 'we will pay for this' as we wait for the
inevitable deep freeze. Our Alfred's are just getting started, the
forsythia is barely showing color, and the pears are only starting to
swell, so things are a bit behind Walter's part of Mississippi, but not
far.
The irises sure look strange - they are green. I'm not used to that
'look', tho it is nice. <g> Usually leaves have considerable freeze
damage by now. At this rate, this will be a lousy year for evaluating
irises. <big g>
I learned at the Region 7 pot luck that folks have the impression I live
in the mountains of east Tennessee because of the late freezes here, but
't ain't so - just in a low place where frost gathers and stays.
