Most of the discussion on this has centered on the question of iris NAMES
which have been controversial. As far as I am aware most of the controversy
over THORNBIRD centers on the color and form, although I believe that in some
quarters the book which also has this name was considered mildly scandalous
so it is conceivable there was some impact from that.
I shall repeat my question. Does anyone know of any other recent, by which I
mean non-historic, hybrid iris about which people have so enjoyed holding and
expressing such strong and conflicting opinions on the basis of color and
form?
