Aha! You caught a thoughtwave, or I did. I nearly asked specifically about
this iris. Clearly it is not one to send quite the same numbers of folks to
the barricades as THORNBIRD, but the name is highly suggestive and one does
hear that some love to hate it a lot. It is really one in a long progression
of similarly colored irises. COLOR CARNIVAL comes to mind. I have one similar
that Edinger thinks may be TALLY-HO. It is flesh pink with a coral red beard
and grape purple staining running half way down the falls. Marvelous thing
once you get used to its garishness. It doesn't do to be too tasteful all the
time. The rainbow goddess must occasionally get down and boogie like the rest
of us. It is in her genes, as they say.
